Dry Cleaner Workers May Develop Mesothelioma from Asbestos Exposure – NY Lawyer Joe WilliamsDry Cleaner Workers May Develop Mesothelioma from Asbestos Exposure – NY Lawyer Joe Williams
Listen as Joe Williams discusses how working at a dry cleaner could have exposed you to the asbestos that caused your mesothelioma.
Many years ago, the steam press used to dry clean clothes would have been covered with asbestos. The two pads used to press down on the clothes were also made of asbestos, in order to withstand the extreme heat. These pads would often wear out, and the process of removing and replacing them would have involved tearing of the asbestos pads. This would have released asbestos into the air.
Related areas of potential exposure include large commercial washers and dryers, which contained asbestos components. Also, the United States Navy had these washers and dryers and those people who worked on these would have been exposed. Watch the video to learn more.
