First the good news: Jimmy Kimmel’s son Billy is “doing very well” as the late night show host said, showing a clip of the baby smiling at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Kimmel returned to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! from his time off after delivering one of the most watched and discussed monologues in late-night history, in which he revealed that his newborn had heart surgery.
This time he pulled some self-deprecating jabs at the Republicans and conservative newspapers like the New York Post and the Washington Times “I don’t think it’s a real newspaper” that accused him of being an “out-of-touch, Hollywood, elitist creep.”
When I was a kid, we had to drink the powdered milk because we couldnt afford the liquid, he said recalling his poor upbringings. “My dream was to become an out-of-touch Hollywood elitist, and I guess it came true.
Then, the host delivered a hilariously fake apology to his critics:
And I would like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care. It was insensitive, it was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
At the end of the segment, Kimmel was joined by Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.) who proposed a health care plan to pass the “Jimmy Kimmel Test.”
